I would like to know if my au ID will be changed at each procedure

When switching between au, UQ mobile or povo

Will my au ID change when switching between au, UQ mobile or povo?

There will be no change to your au ID.

When switching to another company (MNP)

Will my au ID change when transferring to another company (MNP)?

It depends on the timing of the transfer and the phone number.

Please see below for details. 

If you switched to another company (MNP) before August 17, 2021 using the same au ID as your mobile phone number

It will change to au ID + _ (half-width underscore) + MNP transfer date (YYYYMMDD).

Example: MNP transfer on April 1, 2021

au ID before transferring to another company: 080XXXXXXXX

au ID after transferring to another company: 080XXXXXXXX_20210401

If you switched to another company (MNP) on or after August 18, 2021 using the same au ID as your mobile phone number

There will be no change to the au ID.

If the au ID is not a mobile phone number

There will be no change to the au ID.

When cancelling a contracted line

Will my au ID change when cancelling my contract line?

If the au ID is the same as the canceled mobile phone number, your au ID will change.

Please see below for details.

If your au ID at the time of contract was the same as your mobile phone number

It will change to au ID + _ (half-width underscore) + cancellation date (YYYYMMDD).

Example: Cancellation on April 1, 2021

au ID before cancellation: 080XXXXXXXX

au ID  after cancellation: 080XXXXXXXX_20210401

If you are using an au ID that is different from your mobile phone number

There will be no change to the au ID.

When handling a transfer or inheritance procedure

Will my au ID change when handling transfer or inheritance procedure?

Regardless of whether your au ID is a phone number or email address type, a new au ID will be issued with the phone number of the procedure line.

Please see below for details. 

If the phone number for the procedure line and au ID are the same

Your original au ID will change to au ID + _ (half-width underscore) +Date of transfer/inheritance (YYYYMMDD), and you will be issued a new au ID linked to the transferred/inherited procedure line.

 

Example: Transfer/Inherit on April 1, 2021 procedure line (080XXXXXXXX)

When handling a transfer within the family

Does the au ID change when transferring within the family?

In the case of transfer within the family, it depends on the number of lines linked to the au ID.

Please see below for details.

If you have one phone number linked to your au ID

Your au ID will not change. You can continue to use it as before.

If there are two or more phone numbers linked to the au ID

A new au ID will be issued to link the line transferred within the family.

The original au ID may change.

If the phone number of the procedure line and au ID are the same
