The au PAY prepaid card shares its balance and other details with au PAY (code payment), and if you cancel it, you will not be able to use au PAY (code payment) either.
Also, if you cancel while there is a balance, the balance will expire and cannot be recovered, so we recommend the temporary suspension.

Please proceed with the temporary suspension.
During the suspension, you will no longer be able to use the au PAY prepaid card or au PAY (code payment) just like when cancelling.
Also, you will no longer be able to receive benefits of campaigns that give away au PAY balance, so if you are participating in a campaign, please complete the procedure after receiving the benefits.
Launch the au PAY app and tap on "Account" [アカウント] at the bottom right.
Tap on "Menu" [メニュー] in the au PAY item.
Tap on "Temporary Suspension/Restart" [一時停止/解除] in the "Settings" [設定] item.
Log in by entering your au ID and password.
Tap on "Suspend the usage" [利用を停止する].
The setting is now completed.
Access the "Card Temporary Suspension/Restart" [カード一時停止/解除] page of the au PAY website.
Tap on "Suspend the usage" [利用を停止する].
The setting is now completed.
While it is suspended, you will not be able to charge (deposit) nor use the card.
Please cut the magnetic stripe (black stripe) on the back of the au PAY prepaid card by yourself and discard the card.
