【au PAY Prepaid Card】I would like to check/reset/change my card PIN (Forgot my PIN) *For customers who have a card issued after April 23, 2024 (IC chip card)

【au PAY Prepaid Card】I would like to set/reset the PIN for the au PAY Prepaid Card (au PAY app)

If you have forgotten your PIN, you can check it from the "Account" [アカウント] section of the au PAY app.

Your card PIN may be required for transactions using the au PAY Prepaid Card or when withdrawing your au PAY balance from an ATM.

Please check the details below.

Important notes

  • The PIN you set when you applied for the card cannot be changed.
  • If you enter the card PIN incorrectly three times on the same day, it will be locked, but it will be automatically unlocked after 24 hours.

Steps

    Launch the "au PAY app".

  • 2

    Tap on "Account" [アカウント].

  • 3

    Tap on "Menu" [メニュー].

  • 4

    Tap on "PIN" [暗証番号] in the settings.

  • 5

    If you are using an IC card, the PIN will be displayed.

    If you are using only a virtual card or a magnetic card, please proceed to the next step.

    • The PIN cannot be changed. If you wish to change it, a card reissue (charged) is required.
    • The PIN for the au PAY Prepaid Card is different from the PIN for your au ID or au PAY Card.

    Enter your password and tap on "OK".

    • If it does not display, proceed to the next step.
  • 7

    Enter the same PIN (4 digits) in both the PIN and PIN (confirmation) fields. 

    • Repeated numbers (e.g., 1111), sequential numbers (e.g., 1234), and birth dates cannot be registered.
    • The PIN for the au PAY Prepaid Card is different from the PIN for your au ID or au PAY Card.

    Tap on "Set" [設定する].

  • 9

    Your PIN has been set.
