I would like to change the contract holder name of au mobile phone from parent to child

If your child is a junior high school student or older, it is possible to change the name. The transfer procedure can be completed at the store.

Click here for the procedure, if your child is an adult.

Important notes regarding transfer within family

  • If the child is a minor, be sure to come to the shop accompanied by the parent/guardian , bringing their own identity verification documents (originals). Also, make sure to bring the Parental Consent Form.
  • Both the current contract holder (transferor) and the new contract holder (transferee) must come to the shop.

  • Please be sure to check not only this page but also the following page.

For information on "Items required for the procedure" [お手続きに必要なもの], tap on "Transfer within the family" [家族間譲渡] on the following page.

  • If the minor child will become the contract holder, please bring the seal of the guardian with parental authority as well.

  • If your child is an elementary school student or younger, a contract (new, transfer, or inheritance) cannot be signed up in the child’s name.

  • If the person receiving the transfer does not have the same surname and address as the transferor, a family relationship certificate is also required.
  • There may be cases where some services cannot be continued due to the transfer procedure.
    • If you have merged your au IDs, the au IDs will be automatically separated and a new au ID will be issued to the transferee.

    • Any au PAY cards, au PAY prepaid cards, or au PAY balances currently in use by the transferor will not be transferred.

    • The usage limit for au Easy Payment will not be carried over.

    • The transferor must carry out the cancellation procedures themselves for any paid content that they have applied for or contracted for.
  • There is no charge for transfer within family.

  • If you are currently paying for the device in installments, the transfer can be made once the application for the lump-sum settlement of the remaining amount is completed.

For your reference

  • All of the indicated amounts exclude tax unless otherwise specified.
