You can unlock your SIM card through My au website. Please see below for detailed instructions.
If you do not have an au ID, you will need to create one.
For SIM unlocking of mobile phones without au line contract (including after cancellation & used terminals), the IMEI number will be required.
If login with au ID is required, log in with your au ID and password.
If you do not have an au line contract
After logging in with your au ID and password, proceed to STEP4
Select the au phone number you want to proceed, and tap on "Select" [選択].
Enter the 4-digit PIN number set at the contract, and tap on "Next" [次へ].
Tap on "Device purchased from au/UQ mobile" [au/UQ mobile で購入した端末]
The devices whose purchase history can be confirmed, will be displayed in a list.
Put a check on the device you want to unlock and tap on "Next" [次へ].
If you selected "Other devices" [その他の端末]
Enter the IMEI of the device you wish to unlock and tap on "Next" [次へ].
If after entering the IMEI and tapping on "Next" [次へ] , the message "This device can be viewed in your device purchase history. Please select it from My au/My UQ mobile screen" [お客様の端末購入履歴にて照会可能な端末です。My au/My UQ mobileの画面から選択してください] displays, please select again from the "Device purchased from au/UQ mobile"[au/UQ mobile で購入した端末] screen.
Select "Reason for unlocking" [解除の理由] and "Contact" [連絡先] from the dropdown menu, and tap on "Apply with this information" [この内容で申し込む].
A temporary registration completion screen will be displayed, and an e-mail will be sent to the contact e-mail address.
Tap on the URL in the e-mail received.
If you do not receive the e-mail
Emails from the sender "support-info@portalmail.kddi.com" may not be received due to spam filter settings.
In that case, you will need to set up your receiving list and then repeat the procedure from step 1.
